Friendly match


Whyteleafe played a friendly match against a talented West Ham development squad that included several players with league and international experience, including Ivory Coast international Guy Demel.

The visitors won an entertaining game 2-0 with goals from Dom Vose and Olly Lee.

A crowd of more than 400 saw Whyteleafe put on a good display and will learn a lot from the game. Youth keeper Ricky Borrett was drafted into the game as a late replacement for a struggling Paul Smith and he pulled of several fine saves to win the Whyteleafe man of the match award. West Ham co-Chairman and Whyteleafe Patron, David Gold, presented Ricky with his prize on the pitch after match.
