Whenever Whyteleafe and Chipstead meet it is nearly always the away team that triumphs. Chipstead continued their 100% success rate in league games at Church Road to gain three points, continue their successful season and remain close to the play off places.

The visitors had a good chance as early as the third minute. Paul Smith in the Leafe goal, who has had a good season, had a rare poor game and dropped a cross which fell to former 'Leafe favourite and current Chips' captain. His shot was cleared off the line by Fred Fleming.

Jerson Dos Santos had 'Leafe's first chance in the eighth minute, beating two defenders on the edge of the box but shot wide. There were very few chances in the first half but Smith did make one superb save in the 35th minute to Andrew Dalhouse who headed towards goal from a Callum O'Shea corner.

Chipstead took the lead right on half time when Smith missed a corner from O'Shea, leaving Marcus Elliott to tap in from close range.

Chipstead were the dominant side in the second half but few chances were created. Bruce Hogg had a shot blocked following another O'Shea corner in the 66th minute, then three minutes later a mistake in defence allowed Julian Thompson with just Smith to beat, but he shot straight at the keeper allowing him to knock over. However from the resultant corner Goodchild scored from close range.

Whyteleafe made some changes but never really threatened the visitors goal and any hopes ended fives minutes from time when Fleming was sent off for a second bookable offence, tripping up one of the Chips players in an off the ball incident.

Whyteleafe: Smith, Brown (Halili 75), Aldous, Fleming, Dudley, Mitchell, Batchelor (Agyei 78), Douglin, Simpson, Dos Santos, Henry-Brown (Garrick 57). Subs not used: Wedderburn, Borrett.
