PBFC Season 2008-09 Highs and Lows:

Best Home Win: I missed Welling, so it is Leafe 2 Dulwich 1 on 31st January with a late Dimmock header
Best Saturday Away Trip: Winning 4-3 at Crowborough where we sang our heads off
Best Mid-week Away Trip: Turning Chipstead over 1-5 in September, a magnificent display.
Best Away Result: 0-2 win at Cray who had just won eight on the trot.
Best Away Food: Burgess Hill chips with curry sauce
Worst Away Food: Kingstonian over-priced under-cooked chips, a burger in a foil bag to go soggy and a cup of mud £6.
Best Goal: Riccardo Williams at Sittingbourne last week, a volley of Matt Le Tissier standards
Worst Defeat: Leatherhead 0-2 on Good Friday - was anyone in green actually bothered?
Best Recovery: Four days later at Met Police, drew 0-0 but a superb team display to answer the above
Best Arrival: Asher Hudson has been a terrific addition
Best Return: Scotty. Such a shame it ended when and how it did.
Best Retention: Rob Tolfrey for as long as we did, Rob Smith bar his ill-discipline
Best Quote: Voice of Reason "It's Good Friday and I haven't seen one decent cross"
Best Visiting Support: Ashford Town came in numbers, in voice and with their drinking boots on
Best Home Team Support: Sittingbourne
Best Individual Display: Jabbie at Crowborough, Jason Goodchild at Walton & Hersham
Worst Individual Display: No chance
Player of the Season: Top three in no particular order: Jason Goodchild, Asher Hudson, Adam Broomhead, all dedicated to fitness, the club and the supporters. Top men.
Brightest Prospects: Riccardo Williams (class finisher), Nigel Ikalodo (raw talent, frightening pace), Gavin Dilley (huge progress in goal and took his chance when it came)
Best Referee: At Croydon Athletic in a monsoon, he allowed for the conditions and got the players' respect
Worst Referee: No chance, but I would say the officials were much improved this term with a few old suspects put out to grass and some excellent younger blood introduced.

In summary, I guess we under-performed given the strength of our squad due to indiscipline, a lack of goals and just rotten luck. The fact is that Stuart Massey and his coaching team do it all to a budget, a sustainable budget that will see us give it a damned good go again next term. The highs outweigh the lows, the fun outweighs the woe, so enjoy the break, come back and let's do it all again! PBFC
