Whyteleafe continued their impressive form with a comfortable win over local rivals in a match that was as one sided as the scoreline suggests and was effectively over after half an hour.
The visitors showed their intent right from the start and Chipstead had a let off after only 90 seconds when former 'Leafe keeper James Wastell was beaten by Jason Goodchild's 25 yard shot, but relieved to see it come back off the post. But Whyteleafe didn't have to wait long to take the lead: Nicky Greene beat two defenders before Wastell brought him down in the box and Steve McNamara sent Wastell the wrong way from the spot kick in the sixth minute.
Rob Tolfrey made a good save in the 13th minute to deny Danny Oakins and then three minutes later, Paul Scott won the ball on the right and sent over a great cross that Denva McKenzie was inches away from heading home.
On 20 minutes, Rob Smith found Goodchild 20 yards out, his shot just cleared Wastell's bar. Ronnie Green was next to have a go at goal in the 23rd minute, but his shot went straight at Wastell. Scott found McKenzie in the box in the 26th minute but this shot was blocked by the defence. The ball came straight back into the box and this time McKenzie fired home.
It was only another three minutes before McKenzie scored again from a header to put 'Leafe three up on the half hour and the visitors dominated the rest of the half: well worth their three goal interval lead.
Whyteleafe continued to attack early in the second half. Scott hit a scorching 25 yard effort from a narrow angle inches off target and in the 67th minute, Nicky Greene robbed a defender, passed inside to Robbie Smith who slotted the ball past Wastell for the fourth.
With the game safe and half an eye on Saturday's big cup match at Welling, manager Stuart Massey brought off some of his key players. Chipstead took advantage and had a good spell of football. They pulled a goal back in the 70th minute when a hopeful cross from Mark Wardell caught Tolfrey off his line and scrambling back, he could only help the ball into the net.
Tolfrey however made amends with three great saves, first pushing a Nathan Campbell shot onto the post, then tipping over a great 81st minute shot from Chris Head that was on its way to the top corner of the net. A minute later he pulled of another fine save tipping over a piledriver from Daryl Coleman. Michael Riley also made a great saving tackle to deny Oakins.
'Leafe scored their fifth after 90 minutes when Scott broke clear and took the ball round Wastell and slotted home from a tight angle. He could very well have got a sixth a minute later when clear again, but this time shot straight at Wastell.
This win, after the fine performance against Walton & Hersham should give Whyteleafe some valuable confidence going into the cup match at Welling on Saturday.
Whyteleafe: Tolfrey, Hudson, McNamara, Reeve , Riley, Goodchild, Green (Jabbie 60), Smith (King 70), McKenzie (Harris 60), Scott, Greene.
