MANAGEMENT

Dave Swindlehurst : 1st team Manager
Following Stuart Massey's resignation in October 2006, and a spell with club chairman Mark Coote holding the reigns, Dave Swindlehurst accepted the management job on 2 December 2006.

Dave's playing experience needs little introduction particularly to Crystal Palace fans who will remember his goalscoring prowess in the late 1970's and early 1980's. His managerieal career has taken him from Selhurst Park to Bromley, Crawley and Carshalton Athletic from where he joined Whyteleafe to take the challenge of rebuilding 'Leafe's struggling squad.

Mark "Geordie" Dickinson : 1st team Coach
A very familiar face at Whyteleafe having had several spells as a player at Church Road with a successful spell at Croydon in between. When he finally hung up his boots, Geordie, agreed to take on a coaching role for 'Leafe's reserve team under Roger Hoyte.

 

Danny Rose : Goalkeeping coach
A legendary goalkeeper having been a loyal and excellent servant for Whyteleafe for ten years. A hugely respected keeper all around the Isthmian League. Now coacking 'Leafe's young keepers including his own nephew Dean.

 

John "Nappa" Knapper : Physio
As well as being a very qualified and dedicated physio, Nappa's a very dangerous prankster.

 


PLAYING  STAFF

Danny Arkwright : Defender
Danny is a legend at Whyteleafe having made his name back in 1999 while playing alongside old campaigner Nigel Golley. A terrific season in 1999/2000 saw Danny sweep up all three Player of the Year awards but followed this up with a year out in Australia.
Joined Sutton United on his return to the UK and played for several local clubs before rejoining Whyteleafe from Tooting & Mitcham early in 2006.

 

Luke Basford : Defender
A very experienced and talented left back with masses of experience. Luke has football league experience with Bristol Rovers but moved to non-league plaing initially for Conference Kingstonian and then at Woking. Always popular with the fans.

 

Adam Broomhead : Defender
Part of Tooting & Mitcham's successful 2006/07 squad, Adam is a cultured centre back looking to play a major part in the heart of 'Leafe's defence. Also played for Dorking.

 

Ellis Conroy : Midfield
Joined the club from Dulwich during the 2005/06 season. Ellis is a powerful and talented right-sided midfielder.

 

Joe Clarke : Midfield
A creative central midfielder with natural ball skills who joined the club from Ringmer during 2006.

 

Danny Coote : Goalkeeper
Danny started 'Leafe's under 15s before have seeinh youth action with Crystal Palace and Brentford before returning to Church Road where he won both WFC Youth team player of the year and Southern Youth League player of the season in 2000/01. After time away from the game through injury and work commitments, he took the game up again at Lingfield and then Netherne before returngin to the 'Leafe in 2006.

 

Terry Fennessy : Midfield/forward
A rugged terrier of a left-sided midfielder. A real battler with a great touch and superb crosser. Experience with Chessington & Hook, Banstead Athletic and Corinthian-Casuals.

 

Leon McDowall : Forward
Having been part of a successful Croydon Athletic side, Leon joined the club early in the 2006/07 season. A very talented and quick striker. Also had spells with AFC Wimbledon and Hendon.

 

Denva McKenzie : Forward
A very powerful striker who really put the wind up defenders. Now enjoying his second spell at the club.

 

Daniel Platel : Forward
An exciting and quick thinking striker signed from Carshalton shortly after Dave Swindlehurst moved from Colston Avenue.

 

Ali Reeve : Midfield
Returned to the game in 2006 having initially decided to retire when he broke his leg playing for Carshalton. Ali made his name in a very successful Croydon side under Ken Jarvie. Ali a very physical player who is equally comfortable in midfield and defence. Remarkably erudite off the pitch for a complete beast on it.

 

Michael Riley : Defender/midfield
A quick and skilful right-sided player, happy in both defensive and attacking roles.

 

Sean Rivers : Forward
A very promising striker brought to the club by Dave Swindlehurst from Carshalton Athletic.

 

Robbie Smith : Midfield
A former Crystal Palace youth team captain. Composed on the ball, a clever passer and not afraid to get stuck in.

 

Rob Tolfrey : Goalkeeper
Joined the club from Crawley Town ahead of the 2007/08 season. A confident looking keeper with a bright future.

 

Graham Tydeman : Defender
Having impressed in Carshalton's reserve team, Graham looks set to become a first choice right-back in 'Leafe's Ryman League side.

 

Richard Williams : Midfield
A dynamic and hard tackling midfielder who was brought to Whyteleafe from Chipstead in the Combined Counties League, having previously been with Fulham as a youngster. His performances won him the Player of the Year Award for 2004/05 and club captaincy in 2005/06.
